I hear this all the time. And I completely understand why. But here’s what actually happened — and it has nothing to do with the wallpaper itself. When builders install wallpaper during construction, they often skip a critical step to save time and money. They don’t prime the walls first. So the wallpaper bonds directly to the drywall — and when it’s time to remove it, it takes the wall with it. That’s not a wallpaper problem. That’s an installation problem.
Here’s what we do differently. Our professional installers always prime the walls before hanging a single strip. Always. That means your wallpaper goes up beautifully, stays up for as long as you want it, and comes down easily whenever you’re ready for a change. No drama. No damaged walls. No horror stories. And today’s wallpaper is made to be much easier to remove than it used to be. So with proper installation? You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

The Full Circle Story
...And That Was Just One Room
About seven years ago I saw a photo of a wallpaper from a British company that stopped me completely in my tracks.
It was a geometric mural — overlapping shapes in every color you can imagine, layered and luminous and absolutely breathtaking. My first thought was — how did someone paint that? And then I realized. That was wallpaper.
The British have always loved their wallpaper. They’ve been into it long before it came back here. And that one image — that one stunning mural changed everything. And that's how wallpaper became part of what we do. I found suppliers. I found installers.
And then last fall — seven years later — I finally got to use that very same wallpaper for a Client in her powder room.
Her powder room is 14 feet tall. We had to stack two of those murals on top of each other to cover it floor to ceiling. And when it was done? You cannot tell. It looks like it was always meant to be exactly that.
That is what great wallpaper and great installation can do.

That same Client? We did eight rooms of wallpaper throughout her home. About two weeks of installation altogether.
And here’s something that makes this project even more special — her mother has been my Client for years. This is actually her mother’s third home with Lady Dianne’s. Now we’re working on the daughter’s home too. That kind of relationship — spanning years and generations — is honestly one of the things I love most about what I do. π
During that project one of the wallpapers we had chosen for the main bath was discontinued. Oh dear!! So we put our heads together and decided to move the beautiful beaded wallpaper we had originally planned for the hallway into the main bath instead — and found a gorgeous silver grasscloth for the hallway. Sometimes the unexpected change is actually the better choice. π
And then there was the office. The original plan was a color drenched office — teal walls and trim throughout, with a stunning wallpaper on the ceiling. Beautiful. But when they went to paint the walls to match the teal cabinets, it just wouldn’t work. They tried twice. Oh dear!!
So I looked at the room and said — what if we flip it? Wallpaper the walls and leave the ceiling plain instead. She wasn’t sure. I was sure. It turned out absolutely beautiful. She was obsessed. With all of it. And honestly — so was I. π She kept saying the same thing over and over — “I’m so glad you were here. I wouldn’t have been able to figure this out on my own.” That’s what I’m here for. π
One of the things I love most about wallpaper right now is what’s happening with texture. Grasscloth has always been beautiful on its own — that organic, woven warmth is timeless. But now designers are printing patterns directly onto grasscloth backgrounds. A floral on grasscloth. A geometric on grasscloth. You get the texture AND the pattern together and it is extraordinary. π
And gold and silver leaf applications are having a real moment too — adding a layer of metallic shimmer directly over wallpaper for something truly one of a kind. We have a specialist for that. Because of course we do. π

Can you do wallpaper in any room?
Absolutely!! Wallpaper works beautifully in every room — living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, powder rooms, offices, hallways and more. Some of my most spectacular projects have been powder rooms and dining rooms where wallpaper gets to be the undeniable star. π
How long does wallpaper installation take?
It depends on the scope of the project. A single room is generally a day, sometimes two. For larger projects — multiple rooms or complex installations — it naturally takes longer. We once did eight rooms over about two weeks for one Client!! Once we know the scope of your project we can give you a much more specific timeframe. π
What is grasscloth wallpaper?
Grasscloth is a natural woven wallpaper that adds beautiful organic texture to a room. It’s been a classic for years — and right now it’s having an extraordinary moment with printed patterns layered on top of the woven background. You get the warmth and texture of grasscloth PLUS a beautiful pattern. It’s stunning. π
